APPEAL FOR PROVIDING EDUCATION OPPORTUNITIES TO NEEDY STUDENTS
In the face of the on-going COVID-19 pandemic, its impact on the economy has affected parents and students greatly. Many brilliant and gifted students have been failing to enrol and/or continue with their studies across our training and education programs. Despite the support by Mildmay Institute of Health Sciences and its stakeholders to support them, their numbers continue to grow, some from highly vulnerable communities across the country, who would otherwise become change agents in their communities through the health training programs.
MIHS has developed a needy student support mechanism - UGX 4,000,000 ($1095) can maintain a needy student learning for one year on the Nursing, Midwifery, Medical Laboratory Technology or Clinical Officers’ program. This covers accommodation, meals, tuition, uniforms and practicum. Completing a course of 3 years will take UGX 12,000,000 ($3287). Your support will be highly appreciated.
Identification and selection of such students is done through a rigorous process that involves consultation of local authorities from their villages. This is intended to ensure that the sponsorship goes to the neediest and to those most likely to make impact in their communities.
