Personnel Profile Description

Ms. Sarah Kyejjusa, (ACCA, MSc Accounting & Finance, BBA (Accounting)), is the Chairperson Audit Committee, Senior Lecturer at Makerere University Business School (MUBS), an author and a member of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), a member of the Students Training for Entrepreneurship Promotion (STEP) consortium.

Sarah is Senior Lecturer at Makerere University Business School (MUBS) where she has gained experience in management and research, for the last 16 years. Since 2004, she has been an author and member of the Global Entrepreneurship Monitor (GEM), where she has been actively involved in the collection and publication of data on entrepreneurial activities and levels in Uganda. She is also a member of the Students Training for Entrepreneurship Promotion (STEP) consortium where she is involved in research and training of the youth on how to effectively manage their finances. She was one of the researchers for the Youth and Employment Project (YEMP) with emphasis on the role of entrepreneurship in African economies, a project funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). She is a lead trainer for the Entrepreneurship Training Programme (ETP), a project which trains micro and small entrepreneurs in the rural and urban areas of Uganda, implemented by the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) and funded by the Icelandic International Development Agency (ICEIDA). In 2009, she supervised and approved the online data collection of the Uganda Investor survey under the United Nations Development Organization (UNIDO). Sarah is also a Deputy Director at the MUBS –Entrepreneurship Centre where she provides technical support in training and mentoring entrepreneurs. She has wide experience in curriculum and training materials development for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and has carried out research on factors affecting Women Entrepreneurs with and without disabilities under the Women Entrepreneurship Development and Gender Equality (WEDGE), an International Labour Organisation (ILO) project. She is the Financial Advisor for the MUBS Guild.
